The club was formerly Hanslope Wanderers and we played for many seasons at Hanslope. We play in the Milton Keynes Veterans League, which is one of the largest veterans leagues in the country, and, in part, this explains the high standard of play in games. The league table can be seen at Milton Keynes Veterans League
Veterans football is open to anyone over 35 and, contrary to popular belief, players are fit and the games fast paced! To put this in to some context, think how many Premier league players and footballers in other international leagues are aged over 35 and still playing nowadays at the highest standard?
Our club is not only run to compete in the league fixtures but offers the opportunity for players of all ages and ability to join in our training sessions which will be held at the Castlethorpe pitch. If you would like to take part, send me a text on 0780 076564, saying if you just wish to join a training session or would like to join with a view to playing in league or less competitive friendly fixtures.
Our league fixtures are on the web site and will also be on the village notice boards. I will be arranging friendly fixtures during the season and on Sundays when we don’t have a league, cup or friendly match, will be when we do training.
Sunday morning games kick off at 10.30 and support will always be welcome. If you come to watch don’t be confused by our large range of kit colours! The secret is that we always play in navy shorts with a gold stripe in them! Updates on how the club is progressing through the season will be provided.

The hard court at the Sports Ground has been pressure cleaned, the lines repainted and the tennis post repaired by the Parish Council so it is all ready to go for this spring and summer.
Tennis Membership is £30 a year and a key can be obtained from the Clerk, Karen Hill, on 522900.

We meet every Tuesday and Friday 7.30pm at the Village Hall all year round. We welcome visitors to come and meet the members to join in or even watch and have a cup of tea or coffee and a chat.
There is no need to have your own bowls as the club has sets to use and members are willing to lend their bowls while learning. We play in friendly and competition matches and those very keen members enter into County matches. We also have our own in-house competitions.
Castlethorpe Bowls Club is not about competitions as several members come for the social side and to meet other people.
Located within the playing field complex, the Tennis courts provide the only public facility for the age range of teenagers to adults.
The area contains two full size Tennis courts, a full size basket ball court & a five a side football pitch, though the shared area limits the function to one activity at a time.
Access to the courts is by key for paid up members. Current hire charges are £30 per annum.

The cricket club continues a tradition dating back to the beginning of the twentieth century. The club has primarily offered village people the opportunity to play cricket initially on a friendly basis however latterly, since becoming founder members of the Milton Keynes Sunday League, at a more competitive level. Alternate weeks matches are played at home in a very pleasant rural surroundings with wonderful views overlooking Castle Field and out towards Hanslope.
The cricket square is regarded as one of the best in the area and our outfield has the potential to be the same. At this moment, we only run one side but the need is to developed youth participation for the longer term expansion of the club.
