Parish Councils are the first tier of local government in England. Although there are often two higher tiers, District or Borough Councils and County Councils, Milton Keynes Council is a ‘unitary authority’ so there is only one higher tier.

Parish Councillor Appointments, Responsibilities & Declarations of Interest

At its Annual General Meeting on 13th May 2013, the Parish Council elected Cllr Philip Ayles to be its Chair and Cllr John Keane to be its Vice-Chair.
In addition to their general Parish Councillor Duties, Councillors are appointed to two Committees, have a number of individual responsibilities and represent the Parish Council at certain external meetings. Details are contained within this article.
2012 Chairman's Annual Report

The Annual Report by the Chairman of Castlethorpe Parish Council, Cllr Philip Ayles, was presented at the Annual Village Meeting on 2nd April and can be downloaded here.

Fishponds Play Area Opening

'Nature Area'
An earlier scheme to create a natural area where wild grasses and plants could grow failed because it became overgrown with thistles even after a second attempt. The Parish Council therefore decided to put down a layer of green waste around the trees on the slopes and to cut down the grass in the centre and re-seed it.
