Get involved with local wildlife

The Buckinghamshire and Milton Keynes Environmental Records Centre is looking for help from everyone to keep their database of local wildlife up to date.
Historically wildlife was recorded through personal notes which can be passed onto experts, local or national specialist groups, county recorders, Local Records Centres etc. But recent advances in technology means recorders can now load their own records directly into national databases and interest group websites.

Some of these are specific to certain groups such as butterflies, ladybirds or birds. Others are geographically organised i.e. by county or region. Some of the newer ones come with a wealth of resources which allow you to view aerial photographs, select an accurate grid reference from a series of readily available maps, or to set up your own mini recording website where you can keep and manage your records, choosing to share them with others, or not.
