November 23: Historical Society talk

Castlethorpe Historical Society’s 2017 season of talks concludes on Thursday 23 November in the Village Hall, starting at 7.30pm, with a talk about
Frosts, Freezes and Fairs.

Britain’s rivers froze solid for up to two months at a time during the winters of the “Little Ice Age” between 1600 and 1814. But far from being downhearted, the country took to the ice to celebrate in style, as meteorologist Ian Currie will reveal.
