September 26: Film Night

Castlethorpe Historical Society’s June Film Night in the Village Hall on Thursday 26 September will be showing the multi-Oscar-winning historical comedy The Favourite, starring Olivia Colman, Emma Stone and Rachel Weisz. The film starts at 7.30pm. Admission is £5 or £2 if you are a Historical Society member.

Other films lined up later this year include:

Thursday 15 August: Peterloo, Mike Leigh’s dramatic portrayal of the 1819 Peterloo Massacre where British troops attacked a peaceful pro-democracy rally in Manchester.

Thursday 17 October: The Wife (15), an acclaimed drama starring Glenn Close as a wife who confronts some uncomfortable, deeply suppressed truths. and Jonathan Pryce as her husband.

Thursday 19 December: Bohemian Rhapsody (12A), the story of the legendary rock band Queen and lead singer Freddie Mercury, leading up to their famous performance at Live Aid in 1985.
