August 15: Film Night

Castlethorpe Historical Society’s August Film Night in the Village Hall on Thursday 15 August will be showing Mike Leigh’s acclaimed drama Peterloo, starring Maxine Peake and Rory Kinnear, recounting how cavalry charged a peaceful crowd of demonstrators in Manchester, leaving 15 dead and almost 700 injured. Admission is £5 or £2 if you are a Historical Society member. Other films lined up later this year include:

Thursday 17 October: The Favourite (15), the multi-Oscar-winning historical comedy starring Olivia Colman, Emma Stone and Rachel Weisz.

Thursday 17 October: Bohemian Rhapsody (12A), the story of the legendary rock band Queen and lead singer Freddie Mercury, leading up to their famous performance at Live Aid in 1985.
